What to expect?

Here at Next Level Business, our onboarding process is split into 5 simple phases. Once you have completed the key actions listed above, we can begin onboarding your business. If you are a smaller business, you can expect to reach phase 3 within the first month. If you are a larger business, completing each phase will take slightly longer.

Take a look at each phase below, so you know exactly what to expect and whether we may need anything from you.

Once you have completed the key actions listed above, we will:

Apply to be your Tax Agent
We will need to notify HMRC that we are your agent so we are able to represent you. This is essential otherwise we can’t view your information or talk to HMRC about your affairs. You will need to submit the activation code that you receive in the post (typically takes 7-10 days) as quickly as possible. The code will be sent to the last address registered for that particular ‘tax’, be aware that the code will expire after a certain time.

Account handover
If you had a previous accountant to handle your affairs, we will write to them for a handover of your matters and important ‘accountant’ type information. Please inform your previous accountant that we will be in touch and authorise release of information to us.

We will seamlessly integrate our software systems with yours, expect to be introduced to Xero & Receipt Bank.

New to Xero or need a refresh? Visit the Xero YouTube channel for introductory videos lasting 10-15 minutes for a good overview of the basics.

Account handover
If you had a previous accountant to handle your affairs, we will write to them for a handover of your matters and important ‘accountant’ type information. Please inform your previous accountant that we will be in touch and authorise release of information to us.

  3. The Xero login page can be found in Launchpad
  4. We can arrange a follow-up Q&A call if needed

All of the tools we use, and give you access to, are designed to make your financial management easier everyday. But we know that nobody will use these tools if it’s hard work figuring out how best to use them.

As a new client, we’ll provide the training and guides to help you start using these platforms effectively for your business. You might not need the full suite of complex features, so we’ll show you what you do need and how it’s going to positively impact your management.

We’re here to support you, so if you’re in any doubt… just ask!

We may perform our unique 40-point health check on your company’s Xero organisation if we were not the ones who originally set it up/have been running it. We find that this helps to identify critical action areas, areas for improvement and also the stuff that is just fine (to put your mind at rest!).

If we do perform a health check we will be in touch with the results of that in due course for discussion with you. As we are looking to build a platform for your business to grow, getting the basics right is essential to being able to provide the right insight and ultimately advice and action for your business.

We want to understand and help you work towards your goals and results, so we will be in regular contact with you.

What’s next?

Check-in: Your Growth Accountant will be reviewing your financial performance, learning about your business, and understanding what it is you’re wanting to achieve. Think of them as part of your team.
We’re here to support you, so if you’re in any doubt… just ask!

Onboarding call: Your dedicated Growth Accountant will be arranging an onboarding call with your. They’ll be introducing themself over video call, running through how your service will operate and answering any questions you may have. We want you to be comfortable turning to your Growth Accountant with any questions or ideas.

Future Goals: We’re the Growth Accountant, meaning we know you’re not wanting to stand still. The primary form of unlocking your potential is to understand what it is you’re looking to achieve. We’ve already discussed what your future goals are, now we’ll be looking to cement, track and discuss how this looks in the day-to-day.

Dashboards: We’re a data first accountant, we let your data drive our insight and advice. We believe that you should understand your own performance, hence we create multiple dashboards for you to view your financial performance. We’ll be discussing this in more depth in the coming weeks.
